The performance of the pro-US/Saudi militias indicated that they wont say no to a “wage packet” but are hardly going to put up an inspired show in a fight on behalf of the US or the Saudis.

They seem to have the same attitude as to the Iraqi army in so far as they will take up the training offered and then join up with the local resistances once the time comes.

The Labanese army certainly showed an enlightened attitude in that they realise just how “reliable” these subsidised militias are in a crisis.
