Why do they have such apprehension? Do the Tibetans have any verification these events actually came to pass? The only things we see in the media are pictures of Monks fighting the police in China. Guess they can brawl when needed. As an alternative we should gaze at the key people involved in supporting Tibet. All appear to know each other, but try desperately not to advertise any familiar association.

Robert Thurman (Tibet House in New York City)
Uma Thurman
Richard Gere
Lodi Gyari (Basically, the Tibetan Ambassador to the US)
Pierce Brosnan
John Ackerly (former President of ICT)
Nancy Pelosi (Senator)
John Melnicki (President, Harbor Lane Associates)
Mary Beth Markey (President, ICT)
Martin Scorsese
Steven Seagal
Janet Cohen (Wife to former Secretary of Defense William Cohen)
Marvin Hamlish
Sharon Stone
Annie Lennox

With the exception of Richard Gere and Nancy Pelosi, all of these people actively support the Dalai Lama’s cause, but are rarely seen openly backing the Tibetans in public. Over the past week the majority of the above names traveled with, or seemed to just emerge, at nearly every one of the Dalai Lama’s stopovers in the United States.

Sharon Stone’s latest comments only appear to add to the immense John Melnicki, Harbor Lane Associates, John Ackerly, ICT family tree. A tree that gives the impression of endless growth. Her remarks at the Cannes Film Festival just raise more questions about this interesting group of pro-Tibet players. Stone and Melnicki dated back in 2002-2003, and have been seen at several events beside Ackerly. Richard Gere is on the board of ICT and a good friend of Melnicki's. Toss in Bush Sr. and Cohen and its simple to notice both Harbor Lane Associates and ICT have an abundance of friends in lofty places. Why would these organizations be so close to each other?

What the US conniving to foment another CIA "people-power" pseudo-revolution?

Another utterly outlandish conspiracy theory,surely!

I must admit that when the BBC reports talked about Tibetan protesters waving the Stars and Stripes even I got a little suspicious myself.

I mean do they have any idea what they could be letting themselves in for?

The US record in backing the authoritarian,Catholic Diem regime in S.Vietnam that sought to repress the overwhelmingly Buddhist majority is not one that bodes well for followers of the Dalai Lahma.

Few who lived through the sixties will ever forget the public self-immolations to which Buddhist monks submitted themselves in order to protest the injustices inflicted on them by the US-backed regime.

As it had with Taiwan, over which the Dulles brothers were prepared to threaten nuclear war with China in the 1950s,the narco-traffic proved a far more interesting prospect to the US elites that backed the US intervention in Indochina than any publicly-expressed concern for the human rights and self-determination of the people of the region.

With supporters like the CIA and the BBC,Tibetans would do well to reflect on both the Vietnamese and also the Iranian historical precedents.

History suggests that the regime change they want may not be the one they get.

About Gary Wilson's article Tibet and the March 10 Commemoration of teh CIA's 1959 'uprising'"

I am somewhat familiar with Harbor Lane Associates, the International Security Agency Gary Wilson mentions in his article. HLA is considered the Blackwater for the human rights and non-profit groups of this world. They work closely to protect and support all the worlds’ organizations which are attempting to make this world one human nation. John Ackerly might have his own hidden agenda, but HLA is in it for the correct reasons. Gary Wilson might want to back off from making any connections between the people he mentions in the article. It’s only going to hurt the undertaking of HLA, and in the end find Gary Wilson looking a great deal more paranoid than he already has been over the years.
