The Surge Is Working

Because that greatest military tactician since Clausewitz — Angelina Jolie — said so. Having already saved Africa, her benevolent glance now turns to Iraq. She went to investigate the plight of Iraqi refugees, but was instead detained by matters of higher import: a photo-op with the occupying army that has led 5.1 million Iraqis to seek refuge in the first place. However, she left impressed enough with her hosts in Baghdad’s Green Zone — called the Emerald City by some — to declare that the surge is working and argue against withdrawal.
