if i’m not mistaken, this would be the third time the palestinians established their state. first time was during the 1948 war, second time was in 1988 like the announcer said. the second time around, the state of palestine was recognized by most of the countries in the world, but not by the important ones. at one point after the algiers declaration, according to international law expert francis doyle, more countries recognized palestine than israel.
