Missing in Pakistan
November 27, 2007
An important short documentary on the disappearances in Pakistan. I am saddened that in a country full of exceptionally bright people, this illiterate clown is all the ‘enlightened dictator’ (who, until recently, was a darling of Pakistani liberals) could find for a Minister of Law, Human Rights and Justice. And that other incoherent blob, Aftab Shepao, is a former fugitive from justice, who was invited back from exile in UK by Musharraf after striking a bargain to be subsequently appointed as the Interior Minister. Thanks for posting this documentry. I cried wile watching this documentry. May God has mercy on us.
For some weeks I have been regularly checking your blog for articles. I must express my gratitude for linking all the articles. Have been a great help to me.
I am sick to my stomach after watching this. The lot that calls themselves politicians in our country ……. nothing but a waste of human skin. Wasi Zafar is quite famous over the youtube actually. About more than 97000 views of his “liberal behavior” in that clip from a program called capital talk. I am sorry I had to mention this, coz I could not control my hate and anger over him.
No wonder the country is going down the drain, if people like him are can reach to the ministerial level.
The day will soon arrive when the US will resemble its Pakistan client state in the way it treats its own citizens.
As its attempts at imperialist world domination founder the US will have increasing recourse to disappear those of its citizens it perceives as a threat.
The US has form in this regard. There was corporate -inspired repression of trade unionists post-WW2 that morphed into the communist witch-hunt of the McCarthy era.
It didn’t end there. The Black Hole of Guyana was the final resting place for hundreds of poor black US citizens who had been recruited to Reverend Jimmy Jones supposed cult.
Only it wasn’t a cult at all.It was another CIA MK-Ultra experiment that went badly wrong when internees who had been beaten into slave labour under the forest canopy tried to escape.Beneath the forest floor lay mineral reserves of considerable value to US corporate interests in Guyana.
To this day US archives on the Jones camp are sealed from prying researchers’ eyes.
When it comes to disappearing its own citizens the US had much to teach its proxies all over its Empire.
