Sam Gardiner of the USAF, whose brilliant analysis of the patterns of propaganda in the US media coverage of the war has been illuminating in terms of how consent for otherwise unpopular policies is generated in democracies using putatively free institutions. He is concerned about the escalations against Iran, especially since insiders have informed him that the decision to bomb has already been taken.
