Bisharat makes the case for Israel's manifold transgressions of international law and human rights to finally be punished.

Sadly the monstrously militarised and oversubsidised sad little statelet that is Israel has insinuated its lobby into the very bowels of the US political system.

Now with the EC punishing the Palestinians of Gaza by witholding aid,the UN legitimising the occupation of Iraq and allowing both Israel and the US to threaten war with Iran we live in a definitively lawless and unstable world.A world where US interests would subordinate by conquest or subversion the legitimate aspirations of the great mass of humanity to freedom and self-determination.

The UN has thus become an instrument of US domination. If the aspirations of the great majority of the world's people are to mean anything they should be given due weight in the General Assembly.A properly democratically empowered General Assembly could really make a boycott hurt whereas the Security Council has dishonoured its own Charter so consistently as to make its abolition and replacement a current and pressing imperative.
