Rejoice Gulf Arabs! For too long your leaders have been accused of decadence, extravagance, pompousness, stupidity and waste. They aren’t taking it anymore. Their portly posteriors have parted with the padded cushions, they have risen up, they have flexed their muscles … and they have opened your airspace to allow Israel to do to your neighbors what you have only seen it do to the Palestinians before.
Three Arab states in the Persian Gulf would be willing to allow the Israel Air force to enter their airspace in order to reach Iran in case of an attack on its nuclear facilities, the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Siyasa reported on Sunday.According to the report, a diplomat from one of the gulf states visiting Washington on Saturday said the three states, Qatar, Oman and the United Arab Emirates, have told the United States that they would not object to Israel using their airspace, despite their fear of an Iranian response.
I wonder if al Jazeera in Qatar has already posted its map co-ordinates to the Israeli airforce ? I mean it’s best to be on the safe side !
Oh,and maybe the US fleet better do the same.In June 1967,during the Six Day War aggression by Israel the virtually unarmed US surveillance ship Liberty was hit by rockets and napalm from Israeli Mirage and Mystere fighter aircraft,and torpedoes from MTBs with the loss of 34 US seamen.
The attack was reported as an accident or what today would be called ” friendly fire “.With the help of the Israeli Lobby in the US it was not widely known until Stephen Green’s study of recently declassified files in 1984 that in fact both the US and Israeli governments had foreknowledge of the planned attack on the Liberty.
The case affords insight into the nature of the uncertain US/Israeli alliance that will likely come unstuck in due
course!

To my knowledge, Arab media (including Al Jazeera) did not cover this story at all, even after the Arab league issued a refutation. Not surprsing.
I was wrong; Arab media did cover the story. Still, I don’t think it was given the attention it deserves.
Survivors of the Liberty attack have been slandered by the Lobby as….wait for it:neo-nazis,anti-semites,and conspiracy theorists !
The independent Moorer inquiry in 2003 found that the White House deliberately prevented the US Navy from coming to the defence of the Liberty fearing it would lead to war with Israel.Rescue aircraft from nearby US carriers had for the first time in history been recalled when a US ship was under attack.Surviving crew were threatened with court martial,imprisonment or worse if they ever exposed the truth and were effectively abandoned by their own government.Israel’s powerful friends in the US persuaded the White House to hide the facts of this attack from their own people.
The power of the Lobby ensured that the attack was never investigated by Congress.The only serious naval incident ever not to have merited such an investigation.
The Moorer Committee,using language that seems fully to endorse the maligned Meirsheimer/Walt paper says:
” a danger to our national security exists when our elected officials are willing to subordinate to those of any foreign nation,and specifically when they are unwilling to challenge Israel’s interests when they conflict with American interests;this policy evidenced by the failure to defend the USS Liberty and the subsequent official cover-up of the Israeli attack,endangers Americans and the safety of the US.”
Woe betide those Arab nations that abet an attack on Iran.If Israel has been a dubious ally for the US it will make an exceedingly manipulative and ultimately disastrous ally for fragile regimes in the Middle East now courting its favour.
Before Stephen Green, Jim Ennes, one of the survivors from Liberty, had written a book about it The Assault on Liberty. The publication of the book in itself was a major achievement, since the lobby used all kinds of intimidation to suppress it. Most of these intimidation and silencing tactics are discussed in depth in Paul Findley’s They Dare to Speak Out.
To my knowledge, the issue has only been covered on Democracy Now in the United States.
The biggest problem and hurdle that muslims face for a revival of any kind is the treason and oppression of their so called muslim leaders. None of these leaders are elected by their people. They are all puppets placed in power by the colonialists. They will do anything to please their masters. These barbarians know no limits. So killing a million muslims to please their masters is no big deal. Helping Israel as long as it pleases America is no problem.
As for silencing tactics, I should mention that such methods are not only used only in high profile cases as the example given by idrees, but infact I have found from my own experience that the whole society is molded in a fashion where the only focus is given to work, sex, driving, football, alcohol and paying your mortgage and if you bring in anything remotely similar to “Tony Blair is a war criminal” you get shunned and the topic is declared taboo and you lose points for expressing a political opinion.
As the founder of sociology Ibn Khuldoon once stated. “People will adopt the way of their leaders”.
